Short Story Reading: Bunmi Agusto – The Spiritual Mechanics of Within
A special event is taking place as part of the exhibition The Currency Lab - tɛknoʊmædʒɪkɛs at E-Werk Freiburg.
The artist, author and curator Bunmi Agusto will read from her short story The Spiritual Mechanics of Within. In her work, Agusto creates the fantasy universe Within - a place where personal experiences, cultural identities and spiritual explorations are interwoven. Her artistic practice combines painting, drawing and printmaking with fictional storytelling to explore questions of selfhood and cultural belonging. She publishes her texts on her Substack.
After the reading, the former scientific coordinator of ACT and expert on French-Senegalese literature Dr Stephanie Boye will discuss Agusto's work and its transcultural references with the audience.

About the exhibition:
The Currency Lab is a long-term artistic research project by Elom 20ce (Lomé/Togo), Musquiqui Chihying (Berlin/Taipei) and Gregor Kasper (Dresden/Germany). The project examines the utopian potential of currencies and alternative value systems for an emancipatory future. It comprises an exhibition and various event formats, including workshops and readings.
